JOB: The Tennessee Education Lottery (TEL) Vice President of Sales

The Tennessee Education Lottery (TEL) is seeking an energetic, goal-oriented Vice President of Sales to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sales and as a member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, directing and managing district operations, outside sales staff activities, and corporate account functions.

 

What you’ll be doing:

Coach, mentor and develop the corporate account manager and managers of 5 districts and their teams across the state of Tennessee. Includes: performance management, goal setting, recruiting, and training.

Manage regular sales meetings and ensure effective communication and cooperation between field sales, marketing support and other TEL departments.

Assist in development and planning of promotional programs and retailer training including management of TEL Instant Ticket Vending Machine Program.

Prepare and manage the budget, sales reporting, and other reports.

Deliver presentations to the public on behalf of the TEL.

 

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with at least two years of lottery experience and at least 5 years in a sales management role.  They will be collaborative, work effectively and efficiently with all functions and build strong relationships across the organization by being a diplomatic and effective influencer.

Must have strong leadership and communication skills, work well under pressure with an attention to detail, effectively juggle competing priorities and opinions, possess a strong work ethic and have excellent analytical and organizational skills.  The person in this role must have demonstrated good judgment, discretion and an ability to interact effectively with staff and senior management while working in a team environment.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field required.

Must maintain a satisfactory driving record and a valid Tennessee Driver’s License at all times, and be able to travel intra state and overnight using company vehicle.

This position will work from the Nashville Headquarters.  Regular occurring remote or telework is not available.
