The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial
stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of
a Investigations & Enforcement Agent. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial
Officer, Office of Lottery and Gaming (OLG). The incumbent responsible for investigating the suitability
of applicants to become licensed sports wagering operators and vendors to be licensed to support sports
wagering operations in the District, and for the ongoing monitoring of licensees for operational
compliance with District laws, rules and regulations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Conducting investigations and interviews that consist of the review of an applicant's integrity,
honesty, good character and reputation, work and personal history, background and business
practices.
Summarizes investigative information and prepares complex reports.
Assisting the unit supervisor with the creation of policy and procedures relating to the regulation
of sports betting.
Assisting in recommending regulations, policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness and
productivity of the Investigations and Enforcement unit.
Monitoring operational and technical developments in sports wagering operations and developing
related techniques for regulatory oversight.
Reviewing complaints received from the public, and take action, as appropriate.
Assisting in detecting any violations of applicable Federal and District laws and regulations.
Properly investigating all violations or potential violations, preparing reports, and submitting
reports to the supervisor.
Providing all necessary background information or testimony to support enforcement action(s)
before hearing officer or court.
Working closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) years of progressive experience performing the related duties
and responsibilities such as assisting in or planning and conducting background investigations;
preparing investigative reports and testimony for hearings; and assisting in and/or creating policies,
procedures and making process improvement recommendations.
